On February 15, 2018, Northstar at California partnered with EpicPromise to provide an engaging pasta dinner, free to employees. At this event, Northstar employees had the opportunity to connect with local nonprofits, learn about Project Zero and get involved in the EpicPromise Foundation.
The Northstar Project Zero Team (above) attended to answer questions and encourage employees to take the Project Zero Pledge, if they haven't already. 108 employees pledged to implement more sustainable habits into their daily lives at this event alone.
Team members from the EpicPromise Foundation provided awareness about Emergency Relief and Educational Grants available to employees. The team also showed employees how to sign up to give to the Foundation through payroll in order to help their co-workers in need.
11 of Northstar's 37 nonprofit partners attended the dinner to share their mission, sign up volunteers and make employees aware of the community resources available. The following nonprofits were in attendance:
- Adventure Risk Challenge
- Achieve Tahoe
- Girls on the Run
- Truckee Donner Land Trust
- Truckee River Watershed Council
- Sierra Avalanche Center
- Arts for the Schools
- Family Resource Center of Truckee
- Tahoe Food Hub
- Tahoe Truckee Community Center
